The basic approach has often involved the elimination of certain luxuries, comforts, and services normally associated with luxury airlines. Other approaches involve the introduction of complex methods of determining the cost of travel (Bisignani, 2006, p 45). Some of the problematic issues that attend to the introduction of the cheap airline services involve claims of hidden charges, concerns over the levels of safety and matters of comfort for these airline services. Further, in the liberalized market economy, a flight that is regarded as budget within one region may qualify as expensive in another. This is because there are no structural universal regulatory mechanisms in the global airline business, which could be relied upon for an objective and all-inclusive interpretation of the essential meaning of cheap airline services. Introduction The desire to make airline services affordable and accessible continues to attract various approaches and strategies among different companies spread in different countries across different periods. Studies show that the emergent of the low cost carriers from the mid-1990s led to significant changes in the airline industry particularly within the United States and Europe (Chandler, 2002, p. 4). The idea of cheap airline services often implies a wide range of meanings within different contexts. Although the general idea of offering cheap airline services has some universal connotations, the various strategies employed towards this objective illustrate a highly localized application of the same in terms of the strategies, methods., and the relative levels of success for companies that have attempted to engage in this kind of business (McCartney, 11). Some of the common characteristics of cheap airline services include reduced fare, point-to-point airline services, lack of seat assignment, secondary airports flights, lack of free meals or drinks, higher flights frequency, and short flights. These characteristics are usually conducted in various ways depending on the airline’s chosen operational strategy. The terms “cheap airline services†is often used interchangeably with various other terms that carry the same meaning. Other attendant synonyms include low-cost carriers, budget carriers, no-frills, cheap flights, and discount flights (Flouris & Walker, 2005). Regardless of the different adjectives, the baseline often implies the provision of airline services that cost significantly lower than the average carrier. Generally, cheap airline services are usually conducted in ways that show high levels of efficiency in terms of time and costs. The increased levels of efficiency are important to substitute on some of the areas affected by reduced fares. On this score, it becomes necessary to consider the fact that some of the issues explored in this study are basically aimed at exploring the kind of structures that underpin matters of strategy and revenue with regard to the low cost carriers. Literature Review Multiple studies have attempted to explore the manner in which the low-cost carriers have affected the global airline industry. Academic inquiries have attempted to explore the different kinds of strategies employed by companies that entered the budget airline sector. Studies show that various strategies have been followed by a mixture of results by different countries and across different times (Mentzer, 2000, p. 34). Generally, the literature shows that

Lawrence expresses this theme through the use of similes and conflict. The literary elements used in the poem help clearly point out this meaningful message. As the poem begins, the narrator comes across a golden-brown snake as he approached his water trough. At first, the narrator shows respect and admiration for the creature. As stated in line (27), “But must I confess how I liked him, How glad I was he had come like a guest,†shows He felt honored by the snake’s presence. It is the narrator’s natural instinct to feel this way. The narrator then goes on to compare the snake to cattle by saying in line (16) “He lifted his head from his drinking, as cattle do, and looked at me vaguely, as drinking cattle do. †The use of this simile represents the respect the narrator has for the snake and reflects on the snake’s harmless behavior. Soon after, the narrator’s natural admiration and respect for the snake is interrupted by the voice of his education. Here begins the main internal conflict the narrator faces. The narrator listens to the voice in his conscience say, “The voice of my education said to me, he must be killed, for in Sicily the black, black snakes are innocent, the gold are venomous. and voices in me said, if you were a man, you would take a stick and break him now, and finish him off. (Line 22)†The narrator’s decision to listen to the voice of his education instead of his true feelings is what ultimately brings about the main consequence, which is the sense of guilt resulting from such a petty action. The consequence the narrator faced for killing the snake he had once admired was the feeling of regret and guilt. Although he showed respect and felt honored by the snake’s presence, both were overshadowed by the action of the narrator. The peaceful atmosphere immediately shifted when the narrator thought in his mind, “And immediately I regretted it. I thought how paltry, how vulgar, what a mean act! I despised myself and the voices of my accursed human education. (Line 63)†The negative feelings felt by the narrator were brought forth by something that man usually views as insignificant, the elationship between nature and man-kind. All that was left for the narrator to do was to extinguish his self-inflicted sense of sin against nature. The poem concludes on line 72 when the narrator utters, “And I have something to expiate: a pettiness. †The poem “Snake†clearly sends the message that the respect man has for nature depends on the difference between the inner conscience and the impulse of learned human behavior. The theme shines light on the importance of the relationship between nature and mankind because at the end of the day, they are both more similar than we assume.

The basic principle of a dammed dam is to prevent water from being passed. People have been continuing and to build and perfect these structures, not knowing the full intensity of their side effects. If one takes a weighing scale and put the benefits of the damns on one side and the side effects on the other side, the side effects will out weight the benefits 10 times over. One of these dammed dams has been placed on the river Colorado, actually not one but 40 of these dreaded dams. We should actually change the term River to a huge plumbing system. The Colorado River is known as the most controlled and legislated river in the world. In order to satisfy the needs of humans we have created the one of the largest plumbing system in the world so that we can go to our fridge and have a glass of water. The water has been taken from the river and the fridge has bee powered by the hydroelectric generators, which have been installed on the dammed damns. The consequence of these damn has been devastating to the environment. I therefore urge the student government association to organize an environment exposition so we can educate the students of Embry Riddle. These dammed dams have had devastating effects on the ecosystem, which depends on the constant flow of the river to survive. Fish such has salmon and other species have considerably declined due to the fact they cant reach their breeding grounds. There are four fishes which are listed on the endangered species list and for them to be listed on the list it took a law suite!! I mean why does it have to take law suite to acknowledge the critical habitat of these species If one decides to fish on this river one has to keep in mind that most of the water is destined for the fountains in Las Vegas and the swimming pools in California. So I urge the student association to organize a exposition so we may realize that the water the fishes are swimming in is already bought. Where does all this water go? Water the most unique compound on earth, which is required to sustain life by all life forms, is been used to the extent that at our currant progress of water consumption we will have a water war in the next 2 centuries! So where does all this water go? |
